Eligible children can receive dental care under the Medicare Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS). From 2026, the CDBS provides up to $1,158 per eligible child for basic dental services over two consecutive calendar years. It is available to eligible children aged 0–17 for at least one day of the calendar year where the child or family receives an eligible Australian Government payment.

You can check eligibility through your myGov account, by contacting Medicare, or by contacting the centre. The team can check eligibility and the remaining CDBS balance using the relevant provider details before you book.

CDBS can cover eligible basic dental services including examinations, X-rays, cleans, fluoride, fissure sealants, fillings, root canal treatment and extractions.

However, eligible patients may be able to use a NSW Health Oral Health Fee for Service Scheme (OHFFSS) voucher for treatment with a participating private dental provider. Voucher types may include urgent care, general dental care and denture care. At Primary Dental Wentworthville, an emergency appointment including a consultation and one X-ray is $150. This fee is indicative and may vary depending on your dentist and clinical needs. Additional X-rays or treatment, if required, will be charged separately.
