Dr Maria Van Kuijk graduated with First Class Honours from the University of Otago in 2021. Awarded the Gold Medal in Clinical Dentistry and the Royal New Zealand Dental Corps Prize for Oral Surgery, Dr Maria quickly established a reputation for clinical excellence. Experience includes working in public hospitals across New Zealand, teaching oral surgery at the Adelaide Dental Hospital, and providing on-call dental services at the Royal Adelaide Hospital.

Dr Maria has worked closely with dental specialists and oral and maxillofacial surgeons and brings expertise in managing complex cases and emergencies. In 2025, Dr Maria was awarded the Kenneth J.G. Sutherland Prize for achieving the highest marks in General Dentistry in the Fellowship Examinations of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons. A strong advocate for lifelong learning, Dr Maria has published in peer-reviewed journals and regularly presents at both national and international conferences.

While passionate about oral surgery, Dr Maria enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and has a particular interest in working with medically complex patients and children, always ensuring a calm and compassionate approach.

Outside the clinic, Dr Maria enjoys spending time with friends and family, staying active, and exploring the outdoors across South Australia.
