Patient-centred and focused on building trust, Dr Waleed Malik approaches dentistry with an emphasis on making each dental visit comfortable, informative, and tailored to individual needs.
After completing a Bachelor of Science with Honours at Monash University in Victoria, Dr Waleed moved to Queensland to pursue dentistry, graduating from Griffith University with a Bachelor of Dental Health Science and Master of Dentistry. Experience providing general dental care across regional and rural Queensland has further shaped his approach to understanding the different needs, concerns, and experiences patients bring to their dental care.
Building strong and trusting relationships with patients is central to Dr Waleed’s approach, with clear communication helping patients feel heard, comfortable, and well-informed throughout their care. By taking the time to understand individual concerns and experiences, explain treatment clearly, and involve patients in decisions about their care, Dr Waleed aims to create a positive and supportive dental experience.
Particular areas of interest for Dr Waleed include restorative dentistry, preventative dentistry, and dental extractions. Alongside these clinical interests, Dr Waleed values the role of prevention and early attention to dental concerns in supporting long-term oral health, helping patients better understand and maintain their oral health over time.
Making a meaningful difference to patients’ oral health and overall wellbeing is one of the aspects of dentistry Dr Waleed finds most rewarding, particularly through the
relationships built with patients over time. Combining clinical knowledge and technical skills with a personalised approach allows Dr Waleed to support patients in feeling comfortable, informed, and confident throughout their dental care.
Outside the clinic, Dr Waleed enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, staying active through basketball and soccer, and reading. Exploring new places is another favourite pastime, particularly discovering new restaurants and experiencing different cuisines.
Dentistry provides the opportunity to make a meaningful difference to patients’ oral health and overall wellbeing while building trusting relationships, understanding individual needs and concerns, and helping patients feel comfortable, informed, and confident throughout their care.
Don’t wait for problems to arise — regular check-ups and prevention are key to maintaining a healthy smile.
